CAMPI-TMA xEV sales growth moderates in July

The Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) and the Truck Manufacturers Association (TMA) reported that their combined sales of electrified vehicles (xEVs) continued to rise in July, although at a slower pace, with sales reaching 7,086 units, a modest 3.6 percent increase from the previous month.
July sales brought January-to-July xEV sales to 38,286 units, up 136.4 percent from the 16,195 units sold in the same seven-month period in 2025.
As a result, xEVs now account for 15.84 percent of total domestic vehicle sales in the first seven months of the year.
By category, battery electric vehicles (BEVs) sold 10,476 units, up 300.3 percent from the 2,617 units sold in January to July 2025. BEVs accounted for 27.36 percent of total xEV sales.
Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) recorded 7,094 units in sales, up 2,363 percent from the 288 units sold in the same period in 2025. PHEVs accounted for 18.53 percent of total xEV sales.
The hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) segment ended the first seven months with 20,718 units sold, 55.9 percent higher than the 13,290 units sold in the same period in 2025. HEVs remained the largest of the three xEV categories, accounting for 54.11 percent of total xEV sales.
Overall industry sales
Overall, the joint CAMPI-TMA report showed that the domestic automotive market remained soft, with July sales reaching 37,319 units, a modest 0.6 percent increase from the 37,079 units sold in June.
However, when combined with sales estimates from other automotive brands outside CAMPI-TMA, total Philippine automotive industry sales reached 42,880 units in July, the highest monthly sales recorded so far this year.
“With this continuous growth, the industry is riding on a good momentum. We are hopeful that the positive trend will continue for the remainder of the year,” said CAMPI President Jose Maria Atienza.
The July results brought total CAMPI-TMA sales in the first seven months to 241,725 units, down 10.2 percent from the 269,207 units sold in the same period in 2025.
All vehicle categories posted declines during the first seven months, with heavy trucks and buses registering the steepest drop at 44.2 percent.
Among CAMPI-TMA member brands, Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMP) continued to lead July sales with 17,797 units, followed by Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corp. (MMPC) with 6,271 units, Suzuki Philippines Inc. (SPI) with 1,689 units, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) with 1,256 units, and Ford Group Philippines, Inc. (FGP) with 1,152 units.
