Logisticsnews.PH, an online news website dedicated to logistics, mobility, and supply chain topics, has officially launched.
The launch event, held on February 24, 2025, at the Milky Way in Makati, was attended by key government officials, industry leaders, and members of the private sector. Trade and Industry Undersecretary Mary Jean Pacheco, the guest speaker, presented an overview of the country’s logistics industry.

Former Trade and Industry Secretaries Alfredo Pascual, a strong advocate for supply chain development, and Ramon Lopez, a champion of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), also graced the occasion.

From the private sector, Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Consul Eunina Mangio delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the impact of logistics on small businesses. Philippine Exporters Confederation, Inc. President Sergio Ortiz-Luis, Jr. discussed logistics’ role in boosting export competitiveness. Ambassador Francis Chua, founding chairman of the International Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, was also present.
Other notable attendees included Philippine franchising industry leader Bing Limjoco, and Edmund Araga, president of the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines. Representatives from various conglomerates, logistics industry players, and friends of Logisticsnews.PH also participated in the event.

During the launch, Logisticsnews.PH founder and editor-in-chief Bernie Cahiles Magkilat shared the story behind the website, including its financial struggles and the people who supported its creation. A seasoned business journalist and former business editor of a major broadsheet, she expressed gratitude to everyone in attendance.
She also reaffirmed the website’s commitment to the traditional journalism values. “With the rise of neo-journalists, Logisticsnews.PH promises to remain factual, fair, and accurate—just as we were taught in school,” she said.
The core editorial team of Logisticsnews.PH includes veteran journalist Edu Lopez as senior correspondent, former newspaper editor-in-chief Loreto Cabanes, former DTI Secretary Alfredo Pascual as columnist, former editorial assistant Eli Recide handling administration, and Vincent Hermosura managing technical aspects.
The launch was streamed live on the Logisticsnews.PH Facebook page. For those interested in the journey behind the platform, Bernie’s raw narrative is also available (https://logisticsnews.ph/2025/03/01/the-making-of-logisticsnews-ph) online.
