PPA conducts post-audit conference with LGUs for Nabilid and Galas ports

The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) is actively fostering good governance and strengthening partnerships with local government units (LGUs) to enhance port service delivery.

In line with this commitment, the PPA, through its Internal Audit Department (IAD), successfully conducted a Post-Audit Conference this May 2025 for the Performance Audit of the Nabilid Port in Roxas and the Galas Port in Dipolog City, both managed by their respective LGUs.

The meeting served as a platform to present and thoroughly discuss the findings of the audit. A key focus of the audit was to assess the LGUs’ adherence to the stipulations outlined in the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) established with the PPA.

Furthermore, the audit rigorously examined the effectiveness and efficiency of the management and operational practices implemented by the LGUs at these ports. This scrutiny aimed to ensure strict compliance with the PPA’s established standards and policies.

This proactive and collaborative endeavor underscores the PPA’s unwavering dedication to promoting good governance principles and cultivating stronger ties with local governments. This synergy is crucial for ensuring the effective delivery of port services and bolstering public service accountability across the Philippines.

Key personnel from the PPA’s Internal Audit Department, led by Mrs. Carmencita Marin, spearheaded the conference. Also in attendance were officials from the PPA’s Port Management Office (PMO), Zamboanga del Norte, headed by Port Manager Engr. Subanrio I. Lim. Representing the local government units were Mr. Solito Tagsip from LGU Roxas and Mr. June Carasig from LGU Dipolog, demonstrating the commitment of all stakeholders to collaborative port management.
