The Philippines, represented by Tourism Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco, on Saturday proudly showcased its rich heritage and forward-looking aspirations at Expo 2025 in Japan. The Secretary delivered a powerful statement during the Philippine National Day Celebration, emphasizing the nation’s enduring strength, cultural vibrancy, and commitment to global cooperation.
Secretary Frasco, speaking on behalf of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., and the Filipino people, expressed profound gratitude to the Japanese government, the Expo 2025 organizers, and all participating nations. “This Expo is proof that across seas and borders, we all still believe in something larger than the power of culture, the promise of peace, and the duty we all share to shape a better world,” she stated.
The Secretary highlighted the Philippines’ presence at the Expo as more than just an exhibition. “We came not only to exhibit the Philippines, but to extend our hand, open our hearts, and speak to the world of who we truly are—not just for display, but for dialogue; not just as a showcase, but as an invitation,” she articulated.
Under the guidance of President Marcos Jr.’s vision, the Department of Tourism’s mission has been to present the Filipino identity as a “vibrant tapestry.” Secretary Frasco described this tapestry as “woven by centuries of influence, shaped by our many islands and ethnolinguistic communities, held together by the shared spirit of resilience, warmth, and pride.”
The Philippines’ participation in Expo 2025 underscores its dedication to fostering international understanding, cultural exchange, and collaborative efforts towards a better global future.
