DOTr pushes forward major airport projects with eligibility documents opening

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has completed the submission and opening of eligibility documents for three key airport development projects, marking progress in modernizing the country’s aviation infrastructure.

The projects, focusing on consulting services, include:

– Consulting Services for the New Zamboanga Airport Development Project

– Consulting Services for the New Surigao International Airport Development Project

– Consulting Services for the Camiguin Airport Development Project

This milestone moves the DOTr closer to advancing these initiatives. The new Zamboanga Airport aims to become a vital economic hub in Mindanao, enhancing trade, tourism, and connectivity. The new Surigao International Airport will improve access to tourist destinations and boost local economies in the CARAGA region. The Camiguin Airport Development Project is set to enhance transportation to the island province, known for its natural beauty.

“Today’s achievement represents a step forward in our mission to modernize and expand the nation’s transportation infrastructure,” a DOTr spokesperson stated. “These projects go beyond building airports; they aim to connect communities, strengthen economies, and create a more inclusive Philippines.”

The submitted documents will now be carefully evaluated by the DOTr’s Bids and Awards Committee to ensure compliance with government procurement laws. The department remains dedicated to a transparent selection process to choose the most qualified consultants for these critical projects.
