To usher in the peak travel season starting in October 2025, Philippine Airlines (PAL), the nation’s flag carrier, announced a significant expansion of its domestic flight network. The airline will add new flights across several of its busiest routes to meet the anticipated surge in travel demand and enhance connectivity throughout the archipelago.
Starting this October, travelers will benefit from increased frequencies on key routes from Manila:
Manila-Butuan: increasing from 14 to 21 flights weekly.
Manila-Cagayan de Oro: increasing from 35 to 42 flights weekly.
Manila-Cotabato: increasing from 11 to 14 flights weekly.
Manila-Legazpi (Daraga): increasing from 21 to 28 flights weekly.
Manila-Dumaguete: increasing from 14 to 18 flights weekly.
Manila-Tacloban: increasing from 21 to 25 flights weekly.
Additionally, PAL is boosting service to some of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, offering travelers more options and flexibility. Flights to Siargao, Boracay (Caticlan), and Coron (Busuanga) will see a substantial increase in service from multiple hubs, including Manila, Cebu, and Clark.
“By expanding our domestic flight route network through increased frequency of flights, we can efficiently cater to the needs of travelers,” said Rabbi Vincent Ang, President of PAL Express. “These additional flights and greater seat capacity reflect PAL’s commitment to increase connectivity across the archipelago, boost the local economy, and help drive tourism across our network.”
For the upcoming peak travel season, PAL will operate 1,154 flights per week between Manila and destinations in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao—a 7% increase in flight frequency. This expansion will add over 14,000 weekly seats out of Manila, also representing a 7% uptick in capacity.
