SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena, the crown jewel of Philippine live entertainment, announced that it has surpassed a historic milestone of 2,400 total shows since its doors opened in 2012.
Reinforcing its status as the nation’s premier ultramodern venue, the Arena reported a landmark year in 2025, mounting over 200 events and welcoming 1.1 million attendees—a 10% increase over the previous year. This growth signals a robust surge in demand from international and domestic promoters alike.
The 15,000-seat venue continues to be the preferred Philippine stop for the world’s biggest icons. Its storied stage has hosted:
-
Global Superstars: Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and BTS.
-
World-Class Athletics: The 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship.
-
Cultural Milestones: Miss Universe 2016 and the perennial family favorite, Disney On Ice. “These events reflect the strength of demand for large-scale, professionally managed venues in the Philippines,” said Jeffrey C. Lim, President of SM Prime Holdings. “Our continued investments in our arena portfolio align with our strategy to strengthen our integrated developments, support tourism, and deliver compelling live experiences to our customers.”
To maintain its competitive edge, SM Prime has executed a series of aggressive infrastructure and technology overhauls.
The centerpiece of these upgrades is the 2025 installation of the SM Arena Cube, a state-of-the-art center-hung LED system supplied by Daktronics. Representing a US$2.1-million investment, the Cube offers:
-
Enhanced Visuals: High-definition live feeds and synchronized graphics.
-
Immersive Audio: Surround sound integration that optimizes acoustics for every seat.
-
Operational Intelligence: Real-time data integration and improved crowd flow systems for heightened security and efficiency.
SM Prime’s vision for entertainment extends beyond Metro Manila. The company is set to launch the SM Seaside Cebu Arena in the second quarter of 2026. Located within the SM Seaside City Cebu integrated development, this new venue will serve as a massive catalyst for tourism and economic activity in the Visayas region.
Beyond the flagship MOA Arena, SM Prime manages a diverse portfolio of medium-format and outdoor spaces with a combined capacity of 110,000, including:
-
SMDC Festival Grounds: 70,000 capacity
-
SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds: 20,000 capacity
-
SM Cebu Concert Grounds: 20,000 capacity
By blending world-class technology with strategic regional expansion, SM Prime Holdings continues to cement the Philippines’ position as a mandatory destination on the global entertainment map.
