President Marcos Jr. affirms uninterrupted public service amid energy challenges

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reassured the nation today that government services remain fully operational and steadfast, even as the country navigates rising temperatures and ongoing energy constraints.

In his latest vlog, the President emphasized that the administration’s core mandates—spanning infrastructure, healthcare, education, and peace and order—will not be paralyzed by current environmental and resource challenges.

The President underscored that the wheels of bureaucracy must keep turning to serve the Filipino people, regardless of the crisis at hand.

“Even as we face a heavy energy crisis, the work of the government cannot stop there. The construction of roads and streets continues,” President Marcos stated. “We will not allow government services to be paralyzed, no matter what problems we face.”

By prioritizing sectors like culture, tourism, and essential infrastructure, the administration aims to maintain economic momentum and social stability.

A central focus of the President’s message was the Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH). This flagship housing initiative is designed not only to bridge the country’s housing backlog but to provide Filipino families with a sense of security and pride.

Following recent inspections of housing developments in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija, the President reported significant progress in ensuring units are safe, livable, and accessible.

  • Human-Centric Approach: The program shifts the focus from mere construction to “returning hope and dignity” to every Filipino family.

  • Quality of Life: Residents in newly completed units have already reported improved living conditions, a development the President described as “heartwarming.”

To address the financial barriers to owning a home, the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD), led by Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, confirmed that the program offers diverse options, including house-and-lot packages.

Key Financial Highlights for Beneficiaries:

  • Subsidized Interest Rates: Interest rates have been significantly reduced to between 1% and 3%.

  • Broadened Access: Lower housing costs are making ownership a reality for a wider range of qualified applicants.

Secretary Aliling echoed the President’s sentiment, noting, “The dignity of a family is found when they finally have a home of their own.”

President Marcos Jr. concluded by reiterating his administration’s vow to close the housing gap nationwide. He emphasized that the true measure of the government’s success lies in the tangible improvement of lives.

“We will find a way to provide for all those in need of housing,” the President pledged. “Progress is measured one home and one family at a time.”
