CAAP joins inauguration of Cebu Pacific Training Academy, strengthens commitment to future aviation workforce

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the country’s aviation workforce as Director General LtGen Raul Del Rosario AFP (Ret) and Deputy Director General for Operations LtGen Rozzano Briguez AFP (Ret) attended the inauguration of the Cebu Pacific Training Academy on Monday.

The newly launched training facility marks a significant milestone in the Philippine aviation sector, serving as a hub for the development of highly skilled aviation professionals. The academy is expected to provide world-class training programs for pilots, cabin crew, engineers, and other aviation personnel, aligning with global standards and best practices.

Director General Del Rosario lauded Cebu Pacific for its forward-looking investment in human capital, emphasizing the critical role of training institutions in ensuring the safety, efficiency, and sustainability of the aviation industry.

“This initiative reflects a strong and commendable commitment to shaping the future of aviation in the Philippines. By investing in the training and development of aspiring aviation professionals, Cebu Pacific is helping secure a robust and globally competitive workforce,” Del Rosario said.

The CAAP continues to actively support the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP) initiative of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), a global effort aimed at addressing the growing demand for qualified aviation personnel. Through NGAP, CAAP promotes capacity-building programs, partnerships, and policies designed to attract, educate, and retain talent in the aviation sector.

Deputy Director General Briguez highlighted the importance of collaboration between regulators and industry stakeholders in advancing aviation excellence. “Facilities such as the Cebu Pacific Training Academy play a vital role in cultivating competence, professionalism, and innovation across the aviation ecosystem,” he said.

The inauguration underscores a shared vision between CAAP and industry leaders to ensure the Philippines remains at the forefront of aviation development in the region. By fostering education, training, and continuous professional growth, both public and private sectors are contributing to a safer and more resilient aviation future.
