Leading Philippine fiber broadband and technology provider Converge ICT Solutions Inc. has launched its external digital empowerment campaign, ‘SheConnects: Women Powering Business through Technology’ , aimed at helping female business owners to scale-up their enterprises.
In its pilot leg, Converge collaborated with the Quezon City Government, through its Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO), together with women’s empowerment non-profit, the Network for Enterprising Women (NEW).
The launch gathered about 70 emerging and established businesswomen in micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), introducing them to various digital tools necessary to thrive in a highly competitive digital economy.
“Innovation should leave no one behind. Driven by our Tech for Good philosophy, we are intentionally bridging the digital divide for female-led micro, small, and medium enterprises by turning complex innovations into accessible, game-changing growth tools. Through SheConnects campaign, we are delivering the essential technology insights that small businesses need to compete, scale, and thrive in today’s marketplace,” said Converge SME Solutions VP and Head of SME Business Development Heidi Garayblas.
The initiative’s first iteration focused on digital security and optimizing business operations through various digital tools. Converge SVP and Head of Cybersecurity Services Andrew Malijan led a discussion emphasizing the critical importance of data privacy and cybersecurity, sharing insights on how businesses can safeguard their operations against digital threats.
In addition to cybersecurity, the seminar also showcased the power of Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI) to transform everyday business processes. Attendees were given a workshop in drafting engaging social media posts, while the Converge Small and Medium Enterprises team shared strategies in further integrating the said technology into daily operations.
The program concluded with an introductory session on using social media tools to optimize brand visibility and expand market reach.
“Quezon City has long championed women empowerment by creating opportunities that enable women to lead and succeed. We acknowledge their contribution as powerful drivers of economic development, so through this campaign with Converge, we are strengthening an ecosystem where women-led businesses can flourish and reach greater heights through digital innovation and connectivity,” said QC-SBCDPO Department Head Mona Celine Yap.
“This collaboration with Converge reflects our shared commitment to empowering women entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and mentorship needed to grow sustainable businesses. We are grateful for the opportunity to support this initiative, and we look forward to seeing its impact in expanding opportunities for our fellow women business owners while also equipping our members with fresh insights they can build on to strengthen their enterprises,” said Network for Enterprising Women President Ella Santos-Sol.
Following the successful launch in Quezon City, Converge intends to roll out the SheConnects initiative to more communities nationwide, aiming to drive digital inclusion and empowerment to more female-led MSMEs.
