Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority honored at Malacañang for P129.96-million dividend remittance

The Mactan-Cebu International Airport Authority (MCIAA) was officially recognized by the Department of Finance (DOF) during the 2026 Government-Owned and Controlled Corporations (GOCCs) Day, held at Malacañang Palace on July 8, 2026.

The MCIAA received a Certificate of Recognition for its substantial P129.96-million dividend remittance to the National Government. MCIAA General Manager and CEO Julius G. Neri Jr., alongside Finance Department Manager Atty. Elmar M. Tagaloguin, accepted the award on behalf of the Authority.

The annual ceremony is held in accordance with Republic Act No. 7656, also known as the Dividend Law, which honors GOCCs that consistently remit earnings to support national development. MCIAA’s multimillion-peso remittance highlights the gateway’s robust operational recovery, disciplined fiscal management, and unwavering commitment to safe, efficient, and world-class aviation services.

During the event, DOF Secretary Frederick D. Go emphasized the vital role of GOCCs in driving national progress. “Dividend remittances expand the government’s capacity to fund critical infrastructure, education, healthcare, and other priority programs,” Go stated, praising the discipline and professionalism demonstrated by the recognized corporations.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., who delivered the keynote address, reminded GOCCs that financial success must always pair with excellent public service. The President called on all government corporations to modernize operations, eliminate inefficiencies, and manage public resources with the utmost transparency.

For MCIAA, this national recognition goes beyond mere numbers. It underscores the Authority’s dedication to good governance and operational excellence as it continues to elevate the passenger experience at one of the country’s premier international gateways.
