Pres. Marcos Jr. meets with Singtel, Globe, and Ayala Corp. leaders to drive digital transformation

During his working visit to Singapore, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. met with top executives from Singtel Group, Globe Telecom, and Ayala Corporation to discuss strategic initiatives aimed at expanding investments in the Philippines’ digital infrastructure and accelerating the nation’s digital transformation.

The high-level meeting was attended by Singtel Group CEO Yuen Kuan Moon, Globe Telecom President and CEO Carl Cruz, and Ayala Corporation Vice Chairman Fernando Zobel de Ayala.

The discussion highlighted Singtel’s long-standing confidence in the Philippine market, notably demonstrated through its investment in Globe Telecom and the rapid growth of NCS Philippines—a joint venture between Singtel’s technology services arm, NCS, and Globe’s Yondu.

Since its inception, NCS Philippines has scaled its workforce from 150 to 1,200 professionals, significantly enhancing local capabilities in digital, cloud, and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

During the meeting, Singtel reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the expansion of its investments and operations across the archipelago. Furthermore, the ongoing development of ST Telemedia Global Data Centres’ (STT GDC) facilities in Quezon City and Cavite was highlighted as a key milestone that will reinforce the Philippines’ position as an emerging regional digital infrastructure hub.

By promoting sustained investments in digital infrastructure, the Philippine government and its private sector partners aim to strengthen nationwide connectivity, generate high-value employment for local talent, and support long-term, inclusive economic growth for all Filipinos.
