The Department of Tourism (DOT) successfully concluded its Mid-Year Assessment of DOT Plans and Programs (MAPP) alongside the 1st Management Review Meeting for Fiscal Year 2026, held recently in Makati City.
The three-day high-level gathering brought together key officials and representatives from the DOT Central Office, Regional Offices, and Foreign Offices to evaluate the agency’s performance, assess operational efficiency, and refine strategic goals for the second half of the year.
The summit provided a comprehensive platform to align nationwide and international operations. Throughout the sessions, leadership focused on four core pillars:
-
Programs, Activities, and Projects (PAPs) Evaluation: Reviewing the implementation efficiency and impact of ongoing tourism initiatives across all regions.
-
Fiscal Management: Analyzing budget utilization rates and establishing proactive catch-up plans to maximize resource allocation.
-
Risk Mitigation: Identifying operational bottlenecks, regional challenges, and potential risks to devise actionable interventions.
-
Target Realization: Developing target-driven strategies to ensure all key performance indicators (KPIs) and public commitments for FY 2026 are met on schedule.
Beyond immediate performance tracking, the collaborative sessions and presentations from various delivery units established the groundwork for the upcoming FY 2027 planning and budgeting cycle.
Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay joined agency officials and staff throughout the proceedings, emphasizing the critical role of unity and strategic foresight in driving the country’s tourism sector forward.
“Our mid-year assessment is more than a review of numbers—it is a commitment to the Filipino people that we are managing our resources with utmost efficiency, integrity, and purpose,” said Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay. “By strengthening our internal alignment today, we build a more resilient, adaptive, and high-performing tourism sector for tomorrow.”
The Department remains steadfast in its mission to deliver transparent, highly coordinated, and impactful public service that champions sustainable tourism across the Philippines and on the global stage.
