Demonstrating unwavering support for the nation’s defenders, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. personally visited the Camp Ricarte Station Hospital to commend two Philippine Navy personnel injured during a crucial mission at Ayungin Shoal in the West Philippine Sea.
During the visit, President Marcos awarded the prestigious Order of Lapu-Lapu to both soldiers in recognition of their extraordinary bravery, selflessness, and loyal service in protecting the country’s maritime domain. In addition to the military honor, the President provided PHP 100,000 in financial assistance to each service member to aid in their recovery and support their families.

Direct Support for Troops: The Chief Executive inspected the medical facility, spoke privately with the wounded personnel, and ensured they are receiving the highest quality medical care.

National Recognition: The Order of Lapu-Lapu (Rank of Kampilan) was bestowed, honoring officials and personnel of the government who suffered injuries or locus of risk directly as a result of participating in an activity connected to the President’s campaign or advocacy.

Reaffirmation of Sovereignty: President Marcos reiterated the administration’s steadfast commitment to supporting the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) as they continue to uphold national sovereignty, territorial integrity, and maritime rights under international law.
The President assured the members of the AFP that the government will continue to prioritize their welfare, modernise their equipment, and provide complete backing for operations safeguarding the West Philippine Sea.
