Bohol-Panglao International Airport (BPIA), operated by Aboitiz InfraCapital Bohol Airport Corporation (ABAC), joined the recent festivities for the celebration of Sandugo Festival in Bohol.
Designed to celebrate Boholano heritage through local harvest and international friendship, BPIA hosted its first Sandugo Airport Bazaar alongside cultural performances at the terminal.
From July 24 to 26, 2026 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Sandugo Airport Bazaar served as a high-quality market for local Boholano farmers and artisans, highlighting the value of local goods and produce. Located at the Airport Public Concourse, the bazaar offers free access to all visitors, including transit shoppers, destination shoppers, and airport employees.
Highlights of the Sandugo Airport Bazaar include a curated selection of 20 booths featuring a mix of food and beverage options, non-F&B vendors, hotels, and travel agencies, as well as live cultural performances with drum beaters to celebrate the festive spirit.
Honoring Boholano culture
The Sandugo Festival commemorates the historic 1565 blood compact (Sandugo) between Spanish explorer Miguel López de Legazpi and Boholano chieftain Datu Sikatuna. Recognized as one of the earliest international treaties of friendship, the festival is a cornerstone of Boholano cultural history.
