The Department of Transportation Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (DOTr MRT-3) has announced the launch of its #LibrengSakay initiative, offering free rides to passengers every Wednesday throughout the month of August, starting August 5.
To avail of the free ride, passengers simply need to present a valid Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) National ID at any MRT-3 station service gate. Acceptable formats include:

Physical National ID card

Digital National ID (via official ePhilID website/app)

Peak-hour schedule:
The #LibrengSakay service will be available during morning and evening rush hours on August 5, 12, 19, and 26, following this schedule:

Morning Rush: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM

Evening Rush: 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
On-site National ID registration:
In partnership with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), select MRT-3 stations will also host National ID Registration Booths. Commuters who have not yet registered for their PhilSys ID can easily sign up during their daily commute, request their ePhilID, or update their registration details. “This initiative not only offers financial relief to our daily commuters during peak hours but also supports the government’s drive to promote the adoption and utility of the National ID system,” the DOTr MRT-3 management stated.
Commuters are encouraged to prepare their physical or digital IDs before approaching station gates to ensure smooth passenger flow and avoid delays during peak travel times.
