Travelers, local businesses, and regional communities across Luzon and Western Visayas are set to benefit from faster, safer, and more reliable inter-island sea travel following the official entry into service of Lite Shipping Corporation’s M/V Lite Ferry Twenty. The newly deployed Roll-on/Roll-off (Ro-Ro) passenger vessel marks a major upgrade for the strategic Batangas City–Caticlan maritime route.
The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) formally welcomed the vessel’s launch, highlighting its critical role in facilitating trade, supporting tourism, and driving economic activity along one of the nation’s primary sea corridors. In recognition of the upgraded shipping service introduced on the route, MARINA granted M/V Lite Ferry Twenty official Pioneering Status.
“The significance of every new vessel extends beyond expanding the country’s domestic fleet,” stated MARINA Administrator Sonia B. Malaluan. “A vessel carries not only passengers and cargo, but also opportunities, livelihoods, and hope for millions of Filipinos.”
Constructed and completed in January 2026, M/V Lite Ferry Twenty is a modern Ro-Ro ship built to enhance passenger comfort and operational efficiency. The vessel measures 90 meters in length, 20 meters in breadth, and has a Gross Registered Tonnage (GRT) of 3,923 tons.

The deployment of M/V Lite Ferry Twenty aligns with the government’s mandate to modernize the nation’s domestic fleet through private sector investment.
