Cebu Pacific strengthens Cebu hub with direct international flights to Shanghai and Nagoya

Cebu Pacific, the Philippines’ largest carrier, is continuing to expand its international footprint from its second-largest hub, Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA), with the launch of direct flights to two premier Asian destinations: Shanghai, China, and Nagoya, Japan.

Beginning November 17, Cebu Pacific will operate three weekly flights connecting Cebu directly to Shanghai. Famous for its stunning skyline along the Bund, rich cultural history, and world-class commercial centers, Shanghai provides both business and leisure travelers from the Visayas and Mindanao regions with seamless access to China’s premier economic hub.

Following closely, the airline will launch four weekly flights between Cebu and Nagoya on November 19. Serving as the gateway to central Japan, Nagoya offers visitors a rich blending of heritage and modernity—from the historical Nagoya Castle and traditional culinary delights like miso katsu to easy access to the scenic Shoryudo (Dragon Rising) region and Toyota City.

“We are thrilled to expand our international route network from Mactan-Cebu International Airport,” said [Executive Name/Representative], [Title] at Cebu Pacific. “By restoring and adding key direct connections to Shanghai and Nagoya, we aim to provide seamless, affordable, and accessible travel options for VisMin passengers. At the same time, these new routes support regional economic growth and boost local tourism by welcoming more international visitors directly into the heart of the Philippines.”

The expansion underscores Cebu Pacific’s commitment to decentralized air connectivity, enabling passengers to bypass Manila and enjoy direct, hassle-free international travel straight from Cebu.
