Seafarer document processing still suspended amid cyberattack on system – MARINA

The Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) said its Seafarer’s Record Book (SRB) and Seafarer’s Identity Document (SID) system was hit by a cyberattack on August 13, 2026, resulting in the temporary nationwide suspension of processing for seafarer identification documents.
Immediately following the incident, MARINA initiated corrective and security measures in coordination with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and its systems providers to secure the infrastructure, protect database integrity, and safely restore normal operations.
Seafarers with immediate deployment requirements who need expedited appointments may visit any MARINA SID/SRB Processing Center.
Confirmed regular appointments affected by the system downtime will be honored and rescheduled without additional cost once the system is restored.

As of this writing, the system remains suspended.
