To enhance accessibility and convenience for senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and pregnant voters, the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has announced the implementation of optional early voting hours.
Starting from today, eligible voters from these sectors will have the option to cast their ballots between 5:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. This initiative aims to provide a more comfortable and less crowded voting experience for those who may face challenges during regular voting hours.
The COMELEC emphasized that this early voting period is optional. Senior citizens, PWDs, and pregnant voters can still choose to vote during the regular voting hours, which are from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. During the regular voting period, these vulnerable sectors will be given priority in the polling precincts.
