Philippine major ports post higher yard utilization rates

Philippine port authorities announced the latest yard utilization rates for two of the nation’s key maritime gateways, providing insight into the current operational efficiency and available capacity.

As of July 14, 2025, the Manila International Container Port (MICP) recorded a yard utilization rate of 74.29 percent. This figure represents the percentage of available yard space currently being utilized for container storage and handling at the port.

Concurrently, the Port of Manila reported a yard utilization rate of 60.21 percent. This metric similarly indicates the proportion of its total yard capacity presently in use.

These figures offer a snapshot of the current operational status at both facilities, reflecting the flow of cargo and the management of container traffic within their respective yard spaces.

Port utilization rates are a key indicator for stakeholders, including shipping lines, logistics providers, and importers, as they provide context for port efficiency and potential for future growth or congestion.
