Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno today led the inspection of a consolidated shipment at the Manila International Container Port (MICP) found to contain illegal drugs, underscoring the Bureau’s unwavering commitment to rigorous enforcement and border security.
The inspection, personally overseen by Commissioner Nepomuceno, highlights the BOC’s intensified efforts to combat the smuggling of prohibited substances into the country. The consolidated shipment was intercepted as part of ongoing intelligence-driven operations aimed at detecting and preventing illicit trade.
Commissioner Nepomuceno reiterated the Bureau’s firm stance against drug smuggling, emphasizing that the BOC will remain unyielding in its campaign. “We will not allow criminal elements to exploit balikbayan privileges and tarnish the trust of our overseas Filipinos,” Commissioner Nepomuceno stated. “This seizure underscores our commitment to protecting the country and its people.”
