The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) reported it has registered 16 registered aviation and aerospace projects with combined investments of PHP26 billion as it promotes the establishment of aerotropolis parks as among the agency’s new frontiers.
PEZA Ecozone Development Department Manager Ludwig O. Daza underscored the agency’s strategic role in driving the country’s aviation and aerospace development through ecozone-driven growth and initiatives during the recently-held Philippine Aviation Summit at Marriott Grand Ballroom, Pasay City.
Daza said the 15 aviation and aerospace projects range from multinational corporations to proudly Filipino enterprises.
These projects have generated more than US$1 billion in exports in 2024, and provided employment to over 11,500 skilled Filipino workers — reflecting the country’s strong potential as a regional hub for aviation, aerospace, and advanced manufacturing.
At the two-day annual summit, organized by the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP) in partnership with the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) and gathered top industry leaders, regulators, and global investors, Daza said
that PEZA is opening its doors to more aviation-related industries citing its push for the establishment of aerotropolis parks.
An aerotropolis ecozone is designed to link industries with airports, integrate aviation into the broader industrial landscape, and ensure that the Philippines remains competitive in the next era of industrialization.
Highlighting the growing aviation ecosystem in the country, DM Daza noted the high-value aerospace and aviation sector which requires precision, reliability, and world-class standards.
“PEZA is nurturing a growing ecosystem of locators that are quietly powering the aviation and aerospace value chain of the Philippines” he added.
