The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund) solidified a comprehensive partnership by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at significantly improving housing opportunities for DMW personnel.
The ceremonial signing took place at the DMW Central Office in Mandaluyong City and was led by key officials from both agencies, including DMW Secretary Hans Leo Cacdac and Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Marilene Acosta. They were joined by DMW Undersecretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay and Pag-IBIG Fund Deputy CEO Alexander Hilario Aguilar.
The newly signed MOU establishes a dedicated framework designed to facilitate DMW employees’ access to the Pag-IBIG Fund’s array of housing loan programs and homeownership schemes. This collaboration underscores both government agencies’ deep commitment to the welfare and financial security of public servants.
Pag-IBIG Fund CEO Marilene Acosta reaffirmed the institution’s mission, stating, “Allow me to assure you that Pag-IBIG Fund remains fully dedicated to our mission. We will continue to provide accessible, affordable, and sustainable housing finance for all our members.”
The agreement is expected to dramatically simplify the process of homeownership for DMW employees, including those serving in regional offices, by providing customized, more accessible options.
DMW Secretary Hans Cacdac expressed his enthusiastic support, highlighting the link between employee welfare and service efficiency. “We strongly support this initiative for our employees. When our workers are happy and secure in their most basic needs, such as shelter, they can be productive, deliver better services, and efficiently carry out our mandate to help our Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs),” said Secretary Cacdac.
Both the DMW and the Pag-IBIG Fund have committed to upholding stringent data privacy and security standards throughout the implementation of this agreement.
