AP Cargo Logistics Network Corp. (AP Cargo) has solidified its position as the undisputed market leader in the Philippine logistics industry, capturing a dominant 31.3% market share in a highly competitive landscape, according to recent data from the Civil Aviation Board (CAB).
The data, which represents the total shipment volume processed by the country’s top logistics providers, reveals that AP Cargo handled over 15 million units of shipments, significantly outpacing its closest competitors. This performance underscores AP Cargo’s robust operational capacity, expansive network, and commitment to reliable service delivery across the archipelago.
The overall market processed a total of 48.05 million shipments, demonstrating the scale of the logistics sector in the Philippines. While AP Cargo leads by a substantial margin, the data highlights a diverse and competitive environment:
-
LBC Express, Inc. holds the second position with 5.48 million shipments, representing an 11.4% market share.
-
Europac Domestic Consolidator Inc secured the third spot with 3.33 million shipments (6.95%).
-
2GO Express, Inc. and ASP Airspeed Philippines, Inc. follow closely, with 6.66% and 6.59% market shares, respectively.
Collectively, the top five companies account for nearly 63% of the total market volume, indicating a high concentration of shipments among the leading players.
The industry data also provided insights into the preferred method of logistics processing:
-
Consolidations emerged as the predominant logistics method, accounting for 53.24% of 25.5 million units of all shipments.
-
Direct Shipments followed closely, making up 46.7%(22.44 million units).
-
The small remaining fraction was attributed to break-bulking at 0.06% (26,583 units).
The dominance of consolidations suggests a strong preference for cost-efficient bulk transport solutions, a critical factor for businesses managing supply chains across numerous islands.
“This data confirms our standing as the backbone of Philippine logistics. Our success is a testament to our continuous investment in technology, fleet modernization, and, most importantly, our dedicated personnel who ensure that millions of packages reach their destinations reliably and on time. We are committed to driving innovation and efficiency to support the nation’s economic growth and the expanding e-commerce sector,” said AP Cargo spokesperson.
