The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) celebrated a significant milestone in the nation’s digital infrastructure development with the launch of the A-FLOW ML1 Data Center, a major collaborative project between FLOW Digital Infrastructure (FLOW) and AyalaLand Logistics Holdings Corp. (ALLHC).
DTI Secretary Cris A. Roque was the guest of honor, representing the Philippine government and underscoring the vital role of this facility in accelerating the country’s digital economy. The state-of-the-art data center, strategically located in Laguna, is designed to accommodate a massive 36MW IT load capacity, positioning it as a foundational pillar for modern digital services in the Philippines.
In his address, Secretary Roque emphasized the direct correlation between high-quality digital infrastructure and sustained national economic progress.
“The launch of the A-FLOW ML1 Data Center is not just an infrastructure project; it is an important step forward in upgrading the Philippines’ digital backbone,” said Secretary Cris A. Roque. “High-quality, secure, and reliable data centers like this one are the engines that fuel digital transformation. They are essential for ensuring reliable business operations, enabling the rapid adoption of new technologies, and ultimately, broadening market opportunities for enterprises across the country, from MSMEs to large corporations.”
The Secretary highlighted that world-class data centers provide the necessary capacity and resilience for cloud computing, Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications, e-commerce, and financial technology (FinTech), all of which are critical drivers of the country’s competitiveness in the ASEAN region and globally.
The A-FLOW ML1 Data Center is the product of a strategic joint venture, leveraging FLOW Digital Infrastructure’s expertise in building and operating cutting-edge, hyperscale-ready data centers and ALLHC’s strong real estate and logistics portfolio in key growth areas. The facility is designed to meet international standards for security, energy efficiency, and operational excellence, ensuring high uptime and disaster resilience.
This initiative is closely aligned with the DTI’s mandate to promote investments in critical infrastructure that support the seamless flow of digital trade and commerce, thereby enhancing the overall business environment.
