Hotel101 Global announces European expansion with joint venture for flagship Hotel101-Milan in Italy

Hotel101 Global Holdings Corp., a leading asset-light, prop-tech hospitality platform and a subsidiary of Philippine-listed DoubleDragon Corporation, announced a significant milestone in its European expansion strategy. The company has signed definitive binding agreements for a joint venture to develop a flagship Hotel101 property in San Donato Milanese, Milan, Italy.

The project marks the company’s entry into Italy, bringing its novel, globally standardized “condotel” business model to one of Europe’s most vital economic and cultural centers.

The approximately 429-room Hotel101-Milan will be strategically located on a 1.4-hectare prime site in the vibrant San Donato Milanese community, which is home to the headquarters of ENI. The property offers exceptional visibility along the Autostrada del Sole (A1), Italy’s longest motorway, which links Milan to major cities such as Rome, Florence, and Naples.

The location is a key gateway for both leisure and business travelers, positioned:

  • 7.1 kilometers (approx. 7 minutes drive) from Linate Airport (LIN), which serviced approximately 10.6 million passengers in 2024.

  • 4 kilometers (approx. 5 minutes drive) from the Metro Milano San Donato station, allowing guests to reach the historic Duomo di Milano and the surrounding fashion and cultural districts in about 12 minutes via a direct M3 subway line.

  • Approximately 8.4 kilometers southeast of the Duomo di Milano, complementing existing local hotel offerings, including the neighboring 4-star Crowne Plaza Milan Linate.

Hotel101-Milan is expected to generate approximately EUR85.8 million in sales revenue once fully sold, based on an expected sale price of EUR200,000 per unit. This development forms a crucial part of Hotel101 Global’s ambitious global expansion, which already includes international projects under development in Niseko (Japan), Madrid (Spain), and Los Angeles (USA), alongside its affiliated hotels in the Philippines.

“Milan is a global capital of commerce, fashion, and design, making it a perfect fit for Hotel101’s standardized, technology-driven hospitality platform,” said a spokesperson for Hotel101. “This property is designed to offer affordable 4-star amenities for guests while attracting both local and foreign buyers through our hassle-free hotel unit ownership model. The project is projected to be completed by 2028 and will contribute positively to Milan’s economy through job creation and increased tourism.”

Consistent with the Hotel101 standard globally, Hotel101-Milan will offer a comprehensive suite of 4-star amenities, including:

  • Modern, standardized rooms and 24/7 reception.

  • All-day dining and a 25-meter lapping pool.

  • Full-size gymnasium, business center, and function rooms.

  • Children’s playground and pool, and ample parking.

The development underscores Hotel101 Global’s commitment to sustainable urban hospitality, incorporating energy-efficient designs and solar panels to minimize its environmental footprint.
