Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco hailed the debut of “Sky Tour Cebu,” an innovative tourism program offering an immersive, one-day helicopter journey that provides travelers with a seamless, elevated way to rediscover Cebu’s premier destinations.
The ceremonial program, held in Tuburan, Cebu, on December 12 (Friday), marked the launch of this unique experience, which showcases the province from a breathtaking new vantage point.
“The ‘Sky Tour Cebu’ is a game-changer for island tourism. It is about more than just a scenic flight; it is about providing seamless and elevated access to the wonders of Cebu,” said Secretary Frasco during the event. “By drastically shortening hours of travel into minutes, we are enhancing convenience for both visitors and locals, reinforcing Cebu’s position as a premier destination for adventure, nature, and experiential tourism.”
The Sky Tour experience significantly improves traveler access to sought-after destinations, including Tuburan and Bantayan Island. Beyond convenience, the program is poised to deliver a substantial economic uplift to local communities.
Boosted Local Economy: The initiative directly supports and generates revenue for community guides, local enterprises, and tourism workers in areas previously harder to reach.
Faster, Seamless Access: Traditional travel times, often taking hours by land and sea, are reduced to quick, comfortable minutes, maximizing a traveler’s day and overall experience.
