BOC-NAIA seizes over ₱1.125 billion in illegal drugs for 2025

Demonstrating a steadfast commitment to border security, the Bureau of Customs – Ninoy Aquino International Airport (BOC-NAIA) has successfully intercepted illegal drugs valued at more than ₱1.125 billion during the 2025 calendar year.

The record-breaking seizures are the result of intensified profiling, intelligence-driven operations, and a sustained campaign to prevent the entry of prohibited substances through the country’s primary international gateway.

In close coordination with the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group (NAIA-IADITG), the Bureau successfully halted the flow of various high-value narcotics:

  • Methamphetamine Hydrochloride (Shabu): ₱778.90 million

  • Other Illegal Drugs: ₱346.478 million (including ecstasy/party drugs, marijuana, and cocaine)

These enforcement successes directly support the national anti-illegal drugs campaign of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and follow the specific directives of Customs Commissioner Ariel F. Nepomuceno to fortify the Bureau’s interdiction capabilities.

By leveraging advanced technology and inter-agency intelligence sharing, BOC-NAIA has significantly disrupted the operations of transnational drug syndicates attempting to exploit commercial aviation routes. “Our 2025 record reflects our unwavering commitment to safeguarding public safety,” said District Collector Atty. Yasmin O. Mapa. “Under the guidance of Commissioner Nepomuceno, BOC-NAIA remains vigilant in its mission to dismantle drug networks and ensure that our borders remain a wall against the entry of dangerous substances.”

Moving into 2026, the BOC-NAIA remains dedicated to refining its inspection protocols and strengthening its partnership with local and international law enforcement agencies to maintain the integrity of Philippine borders.
