Clark International Airport (CRK) has successfully concluded its inaugural tourism sales mission in India, marking a strategic leap in positioning Central Luzon as a premier destination for the Indian market.
In a collaborative effort with the Philippine Embassy in India, the Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA), and the Clark Development Corporation (CDC), the mission successfully engaged nearly 40 top-tier travel agents and tour operators from India.
The mission spotlighted the region’s diverse offerings, specifically tailored to the preferences of high-value Indian travellers. Key growth sectors highlighted during the presentations included:
-
M.I.C.E. & Corporate Incentives: State-of-the-art facilities for large-scale conferences and rewarding team retreats.
-
Luxury Weddings: Exclusive venues and world-class hospitality for the growing destination wedding market.
-
Specialized Tourism: High-end golf courses and picturesque locations for international film productions.
A pivotal component of the mission focused on infrastructure and accessibility. The Philippine delegation held high-level discussions with major Indian-based carriers, including Air India Group and IndiGo. These meetings explored the potential for direct air connectivity between India and Clark, aiming to bridge the geographical gap and facilitate seamless travel for tourists and business professionals alike. “Through these collective efforts, CRK is envisioned to emerge as the primary gateway for Indian travelers, ensuring that growing market interest is supported by operational excellence and seamless international connectivity,” the delegation stated.
The success of the mission was bolstered by the presence of His Excellency Josel F. Ignacio, Philippine Ambassador to India. His participation underscored the diplomatic commitment to fostering stronger bilateral tourism and economic ties between the two nations.
By establishing these foundational relationships with Indian travel stakeholders and airlines, Clark International Airport reinforces its role as a vital engine for economic growth and a key international gateway for the Philippines.
