In a major step toward a fully integrated digital economy, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Secretary Henry Aguda attended the Ceremonial Signing of the Subscription Contract for the National ID-Integrated Digital Onboarding System (DOBS) and Mobile Banking Application (MBA) on Friday.
The landmark collaboration brings together the DICT, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), the Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK), and the Overseas Filipino Bank (OFBank) to revolutionize how Filipinos access essential financial services.
The initiative addresses long-standing barriers in the traditional banking and onboarding process. By embedding the National ID into the DOBS and MBA frameworks, the partnership aims to achieve three core objectives:

Reduce Red Tape: Significantly cut down documentary requirements for opening accounts and verifying identities.

Accelerate Verification: Speed up transaction and onboarding verification times through secure digital infrastructure.

Empower Underserved Communities: Make financial services easily accessible to marginalized sectors, including remote populations, senior citizens, persons with disabilities (PWDs), and Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).
Building a Seamless Digital Infrastructure
As the primary partner of the PSA in the National ID eVerify initiative, the DICT continues to spearhead the construction of a robust digital backbone. This infrastructure securely links disparate government services and financial institutions, ensuring that transactions remain safe, fast, and reliable. “Technology should make life easier, not more hassle. With the help of the National ID and the strong partnerships of the DICT, PSA, LANDBANK, and OFBank, we are gradually building simpler, secure, and accessible services for every Filipino,” said DICT Secretary Henry Aguda.
