Following the outbreak of hostilities this morning, Philippine Ambassador Aileen Mendiola has officially convened the Embassy’s Crisis Management Team (CMT) to ensure the safety and protection of all Filipinos across Israel.
Ambassador Mendiola is personally overseeing the mission’s emergency response, maintaining direct coordination with both Israeli and Philippine authorities. Despite the security situation, the Embassy remains fully operational, having transferred its primary functions to its underground shelter to ensure the continuity of essential services for our kababayans.
The Embassy is working closely with Filipino community leaders and coordinators to monitor the welfare of our citizens. Key updates include:
-
Casualty Report: As of this time, there are no reports of Filipino citizens injured or harmed in the recent missile attacks.
-
Operational Readiness: The CMT is comprised of all Embassy officers, alongside the Labor Attaché (DMW), Welfare Attaché (OWWA), and the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché.
-
Constant Monitoring: The Embassy continues to gather information from official sources and verify reports from the ground to provide real-time assistance.
The Embassy commends the Filipino community for its resilience and strict adherence to security protocols. All Filipinos in Israel are strongly urged to:
-
Remain Alert: Stay updated on the latest security developments.
-
Locate Shelter: Stay within close proximity to a designated mamad or bomb shelter.
-
Follow Guidelines: Strictly comply with all IDF Home Front Command instructions and act immediately upon emergency alerts. “The safety and well-being of Filipinos in Israel remain our highest priority,” said Ambassador Mendiola. “Our team is working around the clock to ensure every Filipino is accounted for and provided with the necessary assistance during this time.”
