APECO joins Philippine Ports and Logistics 2026 Conference to promote ecozone as emerging regional logistics hub

The Aurora Pacific Economic Zone and Freeport Authority (APECO) will highlight its growing role in the country’s logistics and maritime development as its President and CEO Atty. Gil G. Taway IV joins the CEO Forum of the Philippine Ports & Logistics 2026 on March 11 at the Solaire Resort.

Now on its 14th edition, the biennial conference and exhibition brings together global and local leaders in maritime trade, port operations, and logistics to discuss infrastructure development, supply chain innovations, and investment opportunities across the Asia-Pacific region.

PCEO Taway will join the CEO Forum with the theme “Transforming the Philippine Port Industry to Global Standards: The Race for Economy of Scale within ASEAN Ports”, along with distinguished lineup of panelists including Authority of the Freeport Area of Bataan (AFAB) Administrator & Chief Executive Officer Hussein P. Pangandaman, Subic Bay Metropolitan Area (SBMA) Senior Deputy Administrator Ronnie R. Yambao, Asian Terminals Inc. Assistant Vice President Reginald Rivera, and Hong Kong’s Tidalis APAC Managing Director Pieter de Coningh. The panel discussion will be moderated by United Portusers Confederation of the Philippines Inc. President and Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. Vice President Ma. Flordeliza Leong.

APECO’s participation in this international conference underscores its vision to position the Casiguran-based economic zone as an emerging gateway for trade and logistics along the country’s eastern seaboard. Located in Casiguran in Aurora Province, the ecozone offers strategic access to Pacific-facing maritime routes that can complement existing port hubs in Luzon.

“Our participation in Philippine Ports and Logistics 2026 allows us to present APECO as a viable hub for ports, logistics, and supply chain development on the eastern seaboard. With our strategic location facing the Pacific, we are well positioned to support the country’s expanding trade networks and bring new investments to Aurora,” PCEO Taway said.

The conference discussions on port modernization, freight management, and supply chain optimization are particularly relevant for APECO as it advances plans for port infrastructure and logistics facilities in Casiguran. These initiatives aim to strengthen Aurora’s integration into national and regional supply chains while supporting the efficient movement of goods across the Asia-Pacific.

APECO is also promoting a range of investment opportunities within the zone, including port infrastructure development, integrated logistics and supply chain facilities, cold storage and fisheries logistics, maritime and transport services, as well as defense-related manufacturing. These projects are designed to support both industrial growth and the development of a modern logistics ecosystem that will benefit local industries and communities.
