The Department of Agriculture (DA) reinvigorates its partnership with international events organizer Informa Markets to bring its services and other initiatives closer to the people through the upcoming trade show and exhibition, Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines 2026.
The agency unveiled its renewed collaboration with Informa Markets during a press conference on May 6. The DA Office of the Undersecretary for Livestock (OUSL) spearheads its commitment to the Livestock Philippines Expo, while the DA-Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) leads the working group for the Aquaculture Philippines Expo.
DA Assistant Secretary for Swine and Poultry Michael Garcia shared that the expo forms part of the Department’s commitment to the agriculture sector, especially in the midst of challenges faced by the Philippine livestock subsector.
“The DA is focused on strengthening biosecurity measures, enhancing productivity and accelerating the adoption of modernized solutions. We are working closely with stakeholders to ensure that our policies and programs are responsive and aligned with the vision of a modernized and competitive livestock industry under Bagong Pilipinas,” Asec. Garcia noted.
This year’s event centers on the theme, “Modern Farming Practices, Bountiful Harvests: The Future of Livestock and Aquaculture,” which reflects the urgent need for resilience in the midst of ongoing global and regional challenges, according to DA Assistant Secretary for Ruminant Livestock Dr. Benjamin Albarece.
“The ongoing conflict in Iran has disrupted global supply chains and heightened concerns about food security worldwide. At the same time, the El Niño phenomenon continues to strain our agricultural systems here at home, threatening productivity and livelihoods. Against this backdrop, Livestock Philippines 2026 is more than an exhibition—it is a platform for solutions. Together, we will chart a path toward sustainable growth and secure the future of food for our nation and the region,” he explained.
In support of the Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines, also present during the press conference were National Livestock Program (NLP) Deputy Director Noverlee Calub, Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) Director Dr. Christian Daquigan, National Dairy Authority (NDA) Deputy Administrator Atty. Gavino Alfredo C. Benitez, National Meat Inspection Service (NMIS) OIC-Director Dr. Fernando Lontoc; and Philippine Council for Agriculture and Fisheries (PCAF) Executive Director Bernadette de los Santos.
The Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines 2026—the country’s biggest international business-to-business event for the livestock, poultry, feeds, meat, and aquaculture industries—is a testament to Informa Market’s dedication in bringing the latest trends, cutting-edge technologies, new opportunities, and sustainable solutions to local farmers, aquaculturists, and business owners in the industry, said Rungphech Chitanuwat, Country General Manager of Informa Markets in the Philippines.
“By embracing forward-thinking practices, we can ensure food security, drive economic growth, create sustainable livelihoods for our farmers and aquaculturists, and build resilience against environmental challenges. Modernizing and adopting sustainable methods will enable these industries to grow, thrive, and produce more efficiently and profitably,” Chitanuwat said.
Set to take place at the World Trade Center Metro Manila, Pasay City from June 24 to 26, 2026, the Livestock and Aquaculture Philippines is expected to bring together 11,000 visitors, innovators, stakeholders, policymakers, and leaders in the livestock, poultry, meat, feeds, and aquaculture industries.
DA livestock- and aquaculture-related agencies will also join the roster of about 300 exhibitors from various parts of the globe to bring its programs and services closer to the public. To date, the DA Pavilion will include the NLP, BAI, NDA, NMIS, Philippine Carabao Center (PCC), Agricultural Training Institute-International Training Center on Pig Husbandry (ATI-ITCPH), Halal Food Industry Development Program (HFIDP), and the Bureau of Agriculture and Fisheries Standards (BAFS). The DA-BFAR will also have its own exhibition space at the Aquaculture Pavilion.
Experts from DA livestock and fishery offices will also share their insights on the latest trends and best practices of animal health, production, processing, mobilization, and other related industry topics throughout the three-day expo.
