Aboitiz Construction plants trees in Laguna, Albay,  and Surigao del Norte for Environment Month

In observance of Philippine Environment Month and the company’s third annual Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) Month, Aboitiz Construction reaffirmed its commitment to environmental sustainability through a two-day tree-planting initiative across three key locations in the country.

Known as Project TERRA (Tree Planting for Environmental Restoration and Renewal Action), the company collaborated with AP Renewables Inc. (APRI) and Taganito HPAL Nickel Corporation to conduct the initiative on June 26 and 27.

Nearly a thousand seedlings were planted by 85 Aboitiz Construction and ACI Plus volunteers in the following locations: Bay, Laguna; Tiwi, Albay; and Claver, Surigao del Norte.

This initiative highlights the company’s key partnerships and demonstrates its genuine commitment to sustainability by encouraging employees to actively participate.

Ms. Karmine Andrea Ching, Senior AVP for Business Transformation, underscored the importance of consistency in delivering the company’s commitment to sustainability. “As we celebrate the third year of our Safety, Health, Environment, and Security (SHES) Month alongside the Philippine Environment Month, it is crucial to constantly seek areas for tree planting not only to take care of our environment, but to preserve the future of the communities in each place.”

Aboitiz Construction continues to strengthen its environmental initiatives through a recently formalized partnership with Ramon Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. and with the support of Aboitiz Foundation, Inc. The partnership aims to plant 1,000 mangrove seedlings in San Fernando, Cebu, while providing sustainable livelihood opportunities and capacity-building support to the San Isidro Farmers and Fishermen Association (SIFFA).
