Safran Landing Systems and Lufthansa Technik have signed a comprehensive 10-year Support and Services Agreement (SSA) during the Farnborough International Airshow.
The long-term partnership builds on years of close collaboration between the two industry leaders to streamline maintenance operations and address evolving global demand for Airbus A320 family, A330, A340, and A350 aircraft.
Under the terms of the agreement, Safran Landing Systems will provide original equipment manufacturer (OEM) support to bolster Lufthansa Technik’s worldwide maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) network. This includes guaranteed access to certified spare parts, advanced technical and engineering assistance, and real-time maintenance documentation updates. By pooling their expertise, both companies aim to optimize component repairs, refine maintenance scheduling, and ensure maximum operational availability for airline fleets globally.
The agreement focuses on expanding MRO capabilities for next-generation fleets while securing long-term support for legacy programs:
-
A350 Support in the UK: Direct OEM data and advanced repair solutions from Safran Landing Systems will drive the expansion of A350 landing gear MRO activities at Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear Services UK in London.
-
Legacy Fleet Continuity: Full OEM support and supply chain stability will continue for the A320 family, A330, and A340 programs at Lufthansa Technik’s primary landing gear facilities in Hamburg. “This Support and Services Agreement exemplifies the best of our MRO world: combining the specialized knowledge and skills of the Lufthansa Technik Landing Gear network with the OEM Safran Landing Systems in order to jointly serve our customers and ensure that market volume and demands are met with the highest professional standard,” said Berit Plewinsky, Vice President Aircraft Component Services at Lufthansa Technik.
