People’s Air Cargo & Warehousing Co., Inc. (Paircargo) is awaiting a Notice to Proceed from Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) for the construction of PAIRCARGO 3 Triangular Area project to support the anticipated increase in cargo volumes at the country’s premier international gateway.
Based on an earlier status report on the NAIA air cargo congestion, the Customs bonded warehouse operator cited the PAIRCARGO 3 project as part of its long term plan to address the anticipated higher volume of air cargo at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
According to the company, it has an existing winning bid for Paircargo 3 with a total area of 41,719.41 square meter property to supposedly support the anticipated increase in cargo volume. The company won the project in a public bidding conducted by the MIAA in 2013.
NAIA has experienced air cargo congestion in late May this year with industries, particularly the electronics sector expressing serious concern over the delay of its imported inputs. So far, Paircargo has managed to clear the air cargo backlog as of end July.
The recent air cargo congestion was a result of the closure of Philippine Skylanders International’s (PSI) facility when New NAIA Infra Corp. (NNIC), the NAIA operator, reclaimed its premises in 2024 for redevelopment.
Another warehouse operator Miascor also stopped operation in 2018. This left Paircargo and Cargohaus of AC Logistics with the former handling about 80 percent of cargo volume at NAIA.
Paircargo is a comprehensive cargo handling and storage service company established in 1987. It has an extensive warehouse space for cargo storage, professionalized handling services and a full component of customs personnel assigned exclusively to Paircargo.
Paircargo is designated as Public Customs Bonded Warehouse operating the largest International Cargo Complex at NAIA with an area of 40,000 square meters.
