The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has issued a maritime safety advisory following the temporary stranding of passengers and cargo in Western Visayas, caused by harsh sea conditions brought on by the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) as intensified by Typhoon Dolphin.
Between 8:00 AM and 12:00 PM today, August 8, 2026, PCG monitoring teams across Western Visayas reported active disruptions at two major port facilities:

As of 12:00 PM, official monitoring records confirm the following affected maritime transport traffic:

Passengers / Drivers / Helpers: 26 individuals currently stranded at affected terminals

Rolling Cargoes: 30 vehicles delayed from boarding

Safety Notice: PCG personnel are stationed at affected ports to provide assistance, maintain order, and ensure the safety and welfare of all stranded passengers and logistics personnel.
The suspension of certain maritime trips is a direct safety precaution in response to rough sea conditions and high waves generated by the combined effect of Typhoon Dolphin and the enhanced Habagat.
