AG&P eyes proposed Bicol ecozone for manufacturing operation

AG&P, a global leader in infrastructure development, is eyeing to locate its manufacturing activities in the proposed Bicol Region Economic Zone (BREZ) in Pantao, Libon in Albay, according to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).

PEZA conducted a briefing with AG&P Chairman and Executive Director Roberto Juanchito T. Dispo, President and Chief Corporate Service Officer Anupam Ahuja, Vice-President, Supply Chain Management & Equipment Maintenance Sven Herber Eikmeier during the group’s recent visit to Pantao, Libon.

A global leader in infrastructure development, AG&P is specializing in modular engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning (EPCIC).

Founded in 1900 and headquartered in Singapore, the firm delivers specialized projects for the LNG, oil & gas, power, mining, and civil infrastructure sectors.

Mayor Mac Sayson and Polangui Mayor Jesciel Richard Salcedo also conveyed support to the establishment of the BREZ by PEZA.

The technical team from AG&P India and Germany who was part of the site visit was awed by the scenic beauty of Pantao and its potential for attracting foreign direct investments.

Aimed at reshaping economic activities in the region, the proposed PEZA-owned BREZ has attracted interests from prospective investors and PEZA-registered companies looking for alternative locations. With an existing Pantao port being operated by the provincial government as a critical infrastructure, BREZ, once proclaimed by the Office of the President, will be ready to host PEZA locators.

“The development of the Bicol Region Economic Zone reflects our continued push to bring investment opportunities beyond traditional growth centers and into high-potential regions like Albay. What we see in Pantao is not just a promising location, but a strategic gateway for inclusive and sustainable industrial growth supported by strong local backing, improving infrastructure, and growing investor interest. While there is still work to be done, particularly in securing approvals and ensuring readiness, PEZA remains fully committed to developing this ecozone into a competitive and future-ready hub for global industries,” said DG Panga.

A long-time PEZA locator and ecozone developer, AG&P delivers industrial and modular infrastructure and services globally for LNG terminals, refineries, petrochemical plants, utilities, LNG liquefaction modules, and other complex process units.

To date, AG&P has registered cumulative investments worth more than PHP8 billion and employing over 1,200 highly-skilled Filipino engineers and technicians.

PEZA, with BREZ as a greenfield development, can likewise avail of the expertise of AG&P in providing modular LNG to supply electricity to locators.
