Oakwave Cebu Corporation, manufacturer of wiring devices for automotive parts, has marked another milestone in the Philippines’ with the opening its new facility at the Mactan Economic Zone (MEZ).
Tereso O. Panga, director general of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA), said Oakwave
has invested more than PHP44 million and is employing around 200 Filipinos, contributing to the growth of high-value manufacturing in Philippine economic zones.
In a speech at the launch on April 14, DG Panga cited the inauguration of Oakwave’s expansion project as a reflection of sustained investor confidence in the Philippines and PEZA as a reliable investment hub especially with Oakwave being one of the long-term investors in PEZA.
On the part of PEZA, DG Panga reaffirmed the agency’s commitment to delivering efficient, predictable, and globally competitive services anchored on its “no red tape, only red carpet” policy.
Oakwave Japan President Tomoyuki Soneya conveyed the company’s satisfaction in choosing the Philippines, recognizing the agency’s role as a reliable partner in their growth journey.
Oakwave Cebu Corporation President Jun Satoh likewise expressed deep appreciation for the Filipino workforce, citing its strong work ethic, adaptability, and technical capability. He also underscored the company’s long-term commitment to grow with the local community, while recognizing PEZA’s consistent support in navigating evolving global challenges.
