DTI showcases top Philippine food brands in Singapore

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Philippine Trade and Investment Centre in Singapore (PTIC-Singapore) and the Export Marketing Bureau (EMB), recently partnered with top Philippine food brands to showcase a premium selection of artisanal chocolates, crispy kangkong chips, and specialty snacks. Held during the Philippines’ 128th Independence Day reception in Singapore, the event gave Singaporean government ministers, foreign diplomats, and high-profile business leaders a vibrant taste of Filipino flavors.

Supported by the Philippine Embassy in Singapore and Philippine Airlines, PTIC-Singapore hosted a “Taste of the Philippines” pavilion. The exhibit featured interactive product displays, sampling activities, and curated gift sets distributed to distinguished guests at the National Day reception, held at the Pan Pacific Orchard Singapore.

The exhibition highlighted an impressive lineup of creative and traditional Philippine products from five key exporters. Sweets and artisanal treats took center stage with Auro Chocolate’s award-winning, single-origin chocolate bars in unique fusion flavors like Dark Chocolate Mango Crunch, Calamansi Cheesecake, and Mocha Crunch. Year Luck Food and Industrial Corporation also featured its popular Konitos mini wafer cones.

For savory and novel alternatives, Kangkong King showcased its pioneering crispy kangkong chips, celebrated as the world’s first commercially flavored water spinach snack. Villa Socorro Farm also presented its signature Sabanana banana chips, along with Camote sweet potato chips made from three distinct varieties of Philippine sweet potatoes.

Regent Foods Corporation completed the lineup with its iconic snacks, including Belgian chocolate waffles and Big Mouth Corniks. The brand also highlighted its assorted sponge cakes in Ube and Pandan flavors, which have been rapidly gaining popularity in Singapore.

The diplomatic reception served as a strategic platform to boost the visibility of Philippine food exports among Singapore-based stakeholders and cultivate future business partnerships. To maximize reach, PTIC-Singapore introduced a digital product catalog accessible via QR codes at the exhibition tables, allowing attendees to connect with exporters seamlessly.

The curated Philippine gift sets were presented to the evening’s Guest of Honor, Singaporean Minister for Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, alongside Members of Parliament Vikram Nair and Yip Hon Weng. Sets were also distributed to the diplomatic corps and prominent business leaders, including representatives from the Singapore Manufacturing Federation and the Singapore Business Federation.

This initiative underscores the DTI’s ongoing commitment to strengthening the global footprint of Philippine products and connecting local exporters with international buyers, distributors, and investors through targeted trade promotions.
