FAST Logistics, the country’s leading logistics company, is planning to build a new cold chain facility in Davao as it expands its operations and increases capacity to meet the growing demand for cold storage in the Mindanao region.
Currently, FAST operates two cold storage facilities: one in Imus, Cavite, and another in Consolacion, Cebu.
The Cavite Hub serves as the company’s primary cold chain facility in Luzon. It has a total capacity of 13,000 pallet positions, including 10,000 dedicated to cold storage, and supports four temperature zones: frozen, chilled, air-conditioned, and dry.
The Cavite hub is powered in part by renewable energy through solar power and has transitioned toward an electrified fleet as part of its efforts to promote a more sustainable supply chain.
The facility is also AAA-accredited by the National Meat Inspection Service.
Meanwhile, the North Cebu Hub in Consolacion has a capacity of 10,000 pallet positions and features precise temperature and humidity controls to serve customers across the Visayas.
Under its Fresh by FAST brand, the company’s total cold chain network now has a capacity of 30,000 pallet positions, catering primarily to the food, pharmaceutical, and retail industries.
“By business segment, we’re prioritizing our pharma-grade cold chain networks, our specialized consumer-goods distribution channels, contract logistics, and e-commerce fulfillment facility- an ally to big players supporting them by being a space or warehouse provider,” said Manuel Onrejas Jr.
