Complementing the ongoing O.N.E. campaign activation, the Department of Energy (DOE) has expanded its landmark “Solar Solutions for Government: Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Public Buildings” (SSG-ERPB) Program.
The expansion was formalized through the signing of Memoranda of Agreement (MOAs) with five prominent new government partners in Region VI.
Joining the clean energy initiative are the City Government of Iloilo, the Provincial Governments of Antique, Aklan, and Capiz, and the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DepDev) Region VI.
Through these strategic partnerships, the newly participating institutions will spearhead the adoption of rooftop solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, execute energy-efficient building retrofits, and implement modern sustainability measures.
These combined efforts are specifically designed to slash public electricity consumption, lower corporate utility overheads, and dramatically improve the long-term climate resilience of local public facilities.
With these five additions, the SSG-ERPB Program now actively covers 23 government entities under nationwide MOAs. By continuously scaling clean, self-sustaining, and efficient energy infrastructure across the public sector, the DOE remains committed to helping government institutions drive down operational costs, allowing them to redirect critical energy savings directly back into essential public services for their communities.
