Major port operator ATI marks four decades of enabling Philippine trade, strengthening supply chains, with over PHP42 billion in investments to date

Asian Terminals Inc. (ATI), together with its foreign strategic partner DP World, has invested more than PHP42 billion in port infrastructure and facilitated the movement of millions of cargoes and passengers over the past four decades to support the country’s growing trade requirements.

Controlled by businessman Eusebio Tanco, ATI has also attracted new investors with the entry of Dubai-based DP World, which now holds a 38 percent stake, and the Philippines’ sovereign wealth fund, Maharlika Investments Corp., which owns an 11.2 percent shareholding. Tanco retains control of the company and serves as its president.

ATI was also delisted from the Philippine Stock Exchange on April 3, 2026.

Over the past four decades, ATI has facilitated the movement of approximately 30 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) of containerized cargo, 57 million metric tons of non-containerized shipments, 10 million vehicles, and around 70 million passengers through its international and domestic ports.

The company has also pioneered industry benchmarks through facilities such as the Cavite Container Barge Terminal and its inland logistics terminals, strengthening supply chain resilience while delivering greater efficiency and competitiveness to customers.

A defining chapter in ATI’s journey has been its longstanding partnership with global logistics leader DP World, its strategic foreign equity partner. The partnership has brought global expertise, world-class operational standards, advanced technologies, and sustained investments to develop future-ready ports and integrated logistics solutions that strengthen the Philippines’ position in regional and global supply chains.

In a statement, ATI Director William Khoury said that, backed by DP World’s global expertise, ATI has transformed Manila South Harbor into one of the Philippines’ premier international container gateways and positioned the Batangas Integrated Port as a vital hub for cargo, passenger, and automotive logistics serving Southern Luzon.

Together, ATI and DP World have supported the expansion of key Philippine industries—from manufacturing and automotive to renewable energy and infrastructure—while modernizing passenger transport gateways and introducing logistics innovations that improve the movement of goods across the country.

From its humble beginnings in 1986, ATI has grown into one of the Philippines’ leading port and logistics operators, managing strategic gateways for international trade, domestic commerce, passenger mobility, and integrated logistics.

Today, ATI operates a comprehensive network of strategic trade assets across the country.

The company said it has consistently helped keep the Philippine economy moving by connecting industries to global markets, strengthening supply chains, facilitating investments, and serving as a trusted gateway for commerce, mobility, and opportunity.

Its legacy is built on operational excellence, enduring partnerships, and strategic investments that have helped transform Philippine ports into modern gateways supporting the country’s continued growth and global competitiveness.
