98% of DHL employees say they belong to a great workplace

Close to a perfect score, 98 percent of DHL Express employees agreed that their company is a great workplace compared to 65 percent of employees at a typical company in the Philippines, according to the latest survey conducted by Great Place To Work® Institute.

The survey results put DHL Express at the top of the list of  Great Place to Work in the Philippines for the fifth consecutive year. DHL Express is the world’s leading international express service provider.

In granting the certification as a Great Place To Work® in the Philippines, the global authority on company culture, employee experience, and leadership behaviors highlighted DHL Express’ commitment to providing an exceptional working environment for its employees, having been certified since 2017 and consistently holding the number one spot for the past five consecutive years.

“It is an honor to be recognized once again as the number one great place to work. We are proud to be the employer of choice for our dedicated employees, and we are committed to fostering a supportive workplace built on ‘respect and results’. By respecting each individual, we cultivate an environment where everyone can thrive. Witnessing our employees grow as they realize their full potential is something close to my heart,” said Nigel Lockett, DHL Express Philippines Country Manager.

The Great Place To Work® assessment process is based on its Culture Brief (25%) and research-backed employee survey, Trust Index™(75%).

DHL Express has implemented many workplace initiatives for its employees in the Philippines.

The Jobs Lab PH 2.0 program fosters internal knowledge sharing, enabling employees to learn about different organizational roles and how to execute them successfully. The company is focused on internal growth and employee development.

As of March, the internal hire rate was at 43 percent. DHL Express also actively invests in female leadership through “Shift Up a Gear”, a program designed for women with leadership potential, contributing to 46 percent of its managers being female. To further support leaders, the leadership learning module provides training and refreshers on performance management tools.

Additionally, DHL Express recognizes the importance of employee well-being through its health and wellness ambassadors. These representatives partner with the employee engagement team to spearhead initiatives like walk and run challenges, financial and mental health talks, blood donation drives, and sports events. Their efforts have earned the Philippines team gold in the company’s global health and wellbeing program.
