Luxury Yacht MV Luminara makes historic maiden call at Puerto Princesa port

The Port Management Office (PMO) Palawan officially welcomed the MV Luminara, a premier mega yacht from the Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, as it docked at Puerto Princesa Port on January 20, 2026. This maiden visit marks a significant milestone in Palawan’s growing reputation as a premier hub for international luxury cruise tourism.

The MV Luminara arrived from Ilocos Sur with 207 passengers and 347 crew members on board. The vessel’s Palawan itinerary showcased the province’s diverse beauty, beginning with a stop at Coron Port on January 18 and an anchoring in the pristine waters of El Nido before arriving in the capital city.

To commemorate the ship’s first arrival, a formal plaque exchange ceremony was held on deck. Key officials in attendance included:

  • Representatives from PMO Palawan

  • Officials from the Provincial Government of Palawan

  • The City Government of Puerto Princesa

  • The City Tourism Office

The exchange between the vessel’s Master and local leaders symbolized the strong partnership between the cruise line and the province, highlighting Palawan’s readiness to host world-class luxury vessels.

As part of the prestigious Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection, the MV Luminara’s presence underscores the Philippines’ appeal to the high-end travel market. The vessel departed at 8:00 PM for Muara, Brunei, concluding a successful stay that local officials believe will spark increased interest from other luxury cruise operators.

“The visit of the MV Luminara further strengthens Puerto Princesa’s position as a vital luxury cruise destination in the region,” stated PMO Palawan. “We remain committed to providing top-tier port services to ensure Palawan remains a top choice for international travelers.”
