The Makati Business Club (MBC), in collaboration with the Embassy of Ukraine and the European Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (ECCP), recently hosted a high-level roundtable discussion titled “From Kyiv to Manila: Opportunities in Agri-Food Trade.”
The forum served as a strategic platform for Philippine business leaders across the agriculture, meat, and logistics sectors to gain firsthand insights into Ukraine’s agricultural landscape.
The discussion focused on identifying concrete pathways for bilateral trade, streamlining market access, and fostering robust private-sector partnerships between the two nations.
A central highlight of the event was a briefing by Mr. Serhii Tkachuk, Head of the State Service of Ukraine on Food Security and Consumer Protection. Mr. Tkachuk detailed Ukraine’s rigorous initiatives in:

The event was attended by key dignitaries and industry leaders, including H.E. Yuliia Fediv, Ambassador of Ukraine to the Philippines; Rafael Ongpin, MBC Executive Director; and Julius Barcelona, High-Value Crops Chair of the ECCP Agriculture Committee.
“This initiative is a core component of MBC’s commitment to facilitating high-level dialogue between the Philippine business community and international stakeholders,” said Rafael Ongpin. “We believe that shaping these bilateral economic relations is essential for creating resilient supply chains and stronger business linkages.”
