Garuda Indonesia leads global airline on-time performance in June 2026

Garuda Indonesia has secured the top spot in global airline punctuality for June, according to the latest on-time performance (OTP) data released by aviation analytics firm OAG.

The Indonesian flag carrier achieved an outstanding 97.13% on-time performance across 6,283 recorded flights, comfortably leading a highly competitive global field.

The June data highlights strong performances from carriers across Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. Japan’s Fuji Dream Airlines secured the second spot globally with a 93.29% OTP, closely followed by South Africa’s FlySafair at 93.18%.

  • High-Volume Excellence: Among mega-carriers operating more than 10,000 flights in June, Saudi Arabian Airlines (Saudia) led the pack, maintaining an impressive 92.41% OTP across 13,343 flights. Copa Airlines (90.75% over 12,584 flights) also crossed the 90% threshold for high-volume operations.

  • Flawless Execution: Philippines Airasia Inc. (Rank 4) and regional domestic carrier Cebgo (Rank 18) both recorded a notable 0.00% cancellation rate for the entire month, reflecting flawless operational reliability.

  • Regional Dominance: Asia-Pacific airlines heavily dominated the top 25, securing 12 spots. Middle Eastern carriers also showed strong systemic reliability, placing five airlines—including flynas (89.34%), flydubai (87.55%), and Oman Air (87.46%)—in the global rankings.

The June data underscores a stabilizing global aviation network, with the vast majority of top-tier carriers keeping cancellation rates well below 1.5%.

Large network carriers such as Air India (87.41% over 15,257 flights), Qantas Airways (87.16% over 22,617 flights), and Avianca (87.00% over 22,910 flights) demonstrated remarkable resilience, maintaining high punctuality despite managing heavy summer schedules and massive flight volumes.

OAG’s monthly on-time performance tracking defines a flight as “on time” if it arrives or departs within 15 minutes of its scheduled time.
