President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., alongside Department of Energy (DOE) Secretary Sharon S. Garin, inaugurated the Philippine Energy Museum—the nation’s first interactive learning space dedicated entirely to energy production, transmission, and sustainability.
Designed as an immersive educational landmark, the museum brings the Philippine energy story to life. Through hands-on, interactive exhibits, visitors can explore how electricity is generated from various sources, transmitted across the archipelago, and delivered to homes and industries.
By translating complex scientific and policy concepts into accessible, engaging experiences, the museum aims to transform everyday consumers into active participants in shaping the country’s energy future.
The inauguration marks a double milestone as it coincides with the 25th anniversary of the Electric Power Industry Reform Act (EPIRA), the landmark legislation that reshaped and modernized the Philippine power sector.
“The Philippine Energy Museum is more than a repository of our energy history—it is a launching pad for our future,” said President Marcos Jr. “As we celebrate 25 years of key industry reforms under EPIRA, this learning space invites every Filipino to take part in our journey toward a cleaner, more resilient, and self-sufficient power sector.”
Energy Secretary Sharon S. Garin emphasized the critical role of public awareness in achieving long-term energy security: “Energy powers our daily lives and our national economy, yet few fully understand the immense infrastructure and effort behind turning on a light switch. This museum bridges that gap. By empowering citizens—especially our youth—with knowledge and shared responsibility, we build a foundation for an energy-conscious nation.”
Beyond chronicling the evolution of Philippine energy, the museum challenges visitors to contribute to the nation’s next chapter—one defined by innovation, renewable integration, and shared environmental stewardship for a cleaner, more secure, and prosperous Philippines.
