PAL expands U.S. footprint with new nonstop Manila–Chicago service

Philippine Airlines (PAL), the nation’s flag carrier, continues its aggressive international expansion with the announcement of new nonstop flights between Manila and Chicago, beginning November 9, 2026.

This strategic launch marks PAL’s eighth destination in the United States and its territories, reinforcing its position as the Southeast Asian carrier with the most extensive network to the U.S. mainland and island territories. Chicago joins an elite list of PAL gateways that includes Honolulu, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, New York, Guam, and Saipan.

The new route provides a direct link to the American Midwest, a region with a significant Filipino-American population and a thriving business landscape.

“Chicago is one of the premier hubs in the United States, and our entry into this vibrant city will provide direct connectivity to the Midwest,” said Richard Nuttall, President of Philippine Airlines. “Serving the Chicago–Manila corridor creates vital links to key regional destinations and major Philippine domestic markets through our Manila hub.”

The sentiment was echoed by Commissioner Michael McMurray of the Chicago Department of Aviation, who welcomed the news on behalf of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson. “As the busiest airfield in the world and the best-connected airport in the United States, O’Hare International Airport continues to connect Chicago to key international markets, supporting economic growth, tourism, and cultural ties between our regions.”

The service will operate three times weekly (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) using the state-of-the-art Airbus A350-900. This aircraft is designed for long-haul comfort, offering a full-service experience including gourmet onboard dining and generous baggage allowances.

Route Departure Arrival Frequency

Beyond passenger travel, the new route significantly boosts PAL’s cargo capabilities, allowing for efficient shipment of goods between the U.S. Midwest and the airline’s broader Asian network.

To celebrate this milestone, PAL is offering exclusive introductory pricing. Travelers can secure round-trip Economy base fares starting as low as USD 667.
